World Peace vs Man’s Addiction to War – A Spiritual Solution

Addiction is a spiritual malady requiring a spiritual solution. And the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Therefore, by definition war must be an addiction which requires a spiritual solution! Perhaps world peace organizations and the anti-war movement have not been successful as they have consistently appealed to the world from an intellectual perspective, rather than seeing the problem for what it truly is; a soul sickness.
A simple observation of alcoholics and addicts reveals behavior where individuals have consistently destroyed their lives, and the lives of others. Logical pleas by families and friends have rarely achieved results. Driven by ego and blind to their own insane, selfish behavior, those who suffer from the disease of addiction rationalize and justify their actions in order to keep doing what they have been doing. They lose jobs, lose homes, and selfishly spend their way into bankruptcy to feed their addictions. Does any of this sound familiar?
Despite knowing they have a problem, alcoholics drink and addicts use drugs, even when they don’t want too. And we go to war knowing the devastating impact it will have and, that at some point, we will look back with regret; but we go anyway. Haven’t our attempts at peace always relied on “logical” combinations of political, economic, or military measures, and they have all fallen short. Is it not time for us to consider spiritual measures?
Like other addictions, war is a spiritual malady which requires a spiritual solution. Over the course of the last 80 years the 12 Steps have become by far the most successful tool in creating the necessary spiritual shift in the lives of millions of people. And our goal is to introduce Peace Anonymous – The 12 Steps To Peace, to the world. Help stop the madness.
