We believe that first and foremost we must be committed to the truth. We must see past our own denial, and the deceit of others, many of whom profit from violence, in an honest effort to expose the causes of violence. We believe that individuals and societies are only as sick as their secrets and that by honestly looking at the truth behind the violence we will be able to implement change. We believe that it is our responsibility to live in peace as individuals. We also believe that as members of a democracy it is our responsibility to root out  and expose the violence in our culture with a goal of doing everything we can to end that violence and promote peace. The only requirement for membership is a desire to live in peace. We welcome people from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. We welcome people from all economic and occupational backgrounds. And we especially welcome members of the armed services who have done their duty for their country and may benefit from an opportunity to discuss openly and honestly, the impact their deployment has had on themselves, their families, the local citizens where they were deployed and their fellow soldiers. We believe the truth will set us all free and by examining the violence in our lives will we be able to change our lives. And by examining the violence in our culture we will be able to change our culture. There is much for all of us to learn and it will not happen overnight. And the truth is not always easy to digest, but neither is the truth of violence.
  • “There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance – that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”
